Season 4

A storm is a brewing...
Nola and Vanessa disagree on helping Bill propose to Leah. He sneaks off and proposes to her on top of the Lighthouse. Then Nola and Vanessa clash helping Leah plan the wedding, so Bill & Leah fire both of them and work with eccentric wedding planner Mercy St. Pierre to pull off their wedding at the Springfield Country Club. Leah and Mel bond over the wedding dress shopping, and Rick has a stern talk with Bill. Leah and Bill have a Jack-N-Jill party; Leah talks to Shayne, and they resolve their past. Rick walks Leah down the aisle. Michelle is Maid of Honor and Shayne is Best Man. Ben and CJ meet again, but this time CJ apologizes for standing him up as Ben forgives him. At Bill & Leah’s wedding Christina and Remy go public with their relationship. Bill and Leah honeymoon in Hawaii (present from Rick & Mel). When they come back they spend no time together as both become busy with work and setting up their nursery at their new place (housewarming gift from Billy & Vanessa) in Oak Grove. Leah hires The Property Brothers to set up their home for them; they also put in for adoption evaluation. Billy takes a turn for the worst; he gets a donor, and Annie performs the surgery. A few weeks after his body rejects the heart. Christian tells the family if Billy doesn’t get a heart soon he will die. Marah sheepishly asks Vanessa for an editor job, but Vanessa asks “well whom would be my assistant?” Marah continues working and doing a great job.

Lizzie begins having reservations about giving up her baby while in the spa. The people convince her she must; she signs paperwork to give away her baby. Lizzie finds out the baby is Coop’s. She tells Alan whom refuses to accept her having a Cooper offspring. He helps her leave town and have the baby. She tells both men neither are the father, and she’s going off to track down the actual father. Shayne tells her he’ll wait for her. Marah and Coop go forward with their relationship; Coincidentally Alan arranges for Bill and Leah’s lawyer to take the baby once it's born.

Ross begins recovering at home with Blake by his side. Dinah tries taking over, but Blake confronts Dinah stating she’s Ross’ wife and for Dinah to get a life. Alan-Michael defends Dinah, and Blake has flashbacks of her marriage with Alan-Michael. She warns Dinah that Alan-Michael; Dinah fires back defending Alan-Michael bringing up that Blake was with Alan, Philip, and Alan-Michael. Justin has a stern lecture with Blake, Dinah, and Alan-Michael about arguing around Ross. They apologize and put their differences aside. Everyone chips in to bring Ross to treatments. After he’s done he rings the bell.

Josh has a sit down with Annie and apologizes for how he treated her. Annie tells him all the plans she had for them. He tells her Reva is the love of his life; Annie is hurt and leaves. Reva goes to Annie as Annie tells her she ruined her life and tries attacking Reva. Josh and Alan break it up; Annie apologizes stating she’s just stressed out. When Maureen tries reaching out to her, Annie rejects her help. Annie goes to Spaulding Enterprises to thank Alan; they kiss. Soon they begin having an affair. When Billy starts to take a turn for the worst Mindy goes on TV with Reva to ask people to get test. Someone watches. Brandon“Lujack” Spaulding shows up. Beth and Philip meet with Lujack who states he goes by Lujack. Mindy thanks him for showing up. Lujack goes to see Billy and thanks him for being a male figure in his life. Lujack sits down with Fletcher as Fletcher explains he was kept away from him by Alan and Brandon Spaulding. Lujack hangs out with Alex and Nick as well. Lujack punches Alan and meets Felicia and her family. Felicia hires Lujack to be Head of Security for Spaulding Enterprises; he accepts and moves into the mansion. Alex has a family dinner with her Fletcher, Lujack, Nick, Alan, Hope, Philip, Beth, Lizzie, Alan-Michael, Dinah, Amanda, Felicia, Rick, Mel, Leah, Bill, Remy, Christina, and Lillian. Lujack tells Nick he won’t try stealing Mindy from him, but asks about Natalia. Amanda finally comes out as gay and dating Natalia. Lujack also tells Leah how brave she is; she thanks him.

Amanda asks Natalia to move into Spaulding mansion with her. Alexandra starts smothering Nick about his relationship with Mindy; Fletcher confronts Alexandra and surprises her with a trip. Hope yells at Alan for interfering in everyone’s life. Alan says he’s the patriarch now that Brandon is dead. Hope tells him his sister Victoria Spaulding is still alive, but Alan states she will never be a part of the family. Meanwhile Mel’s mother Felicia Boudreau comes back to town to see Leah. She attends the engagement party and wedding as well as. Alan sees Victoria Spaulding who explains Leah is her great-granddaughter making Felicia her daughter. Victoria tells Alan now that she’s back in town she wants to tour Spaulding Enterprises. He agrees; she and Alex trade barbs. While there the board meets, they name Victoria as CEO of Spaulding Enterprises, Alan as President, Alex as Vice-President, Philip as AVP, Alan-Michael as COO, Amanda as Head of Sales. Alex, Alan, and Philip realize Victoria staged a coup contacting Board Members prior to her trip out. Reva interviews Victoria as she lists her credentials and different companies she’s helped manage. She also tells how Brandon Spaulding left his family to live with Sharina and Victoria. Both died after she graduated college, but not before Brandon even walked her down the aisle, he gave her his shares of the company, and she raised Felicia alone after her husband died in the Vietnam war. She ran a cafĂ©, a finishing school, a funeral parlor, and a bank for Black folks in the South. She sold the businesses a few years ago and has enjoyed traveling. Alan & Alex decide to find out if her husband really is dead so Victoria can be distracted, they find Lt. Daniel Williams held captive in Vietnam. Alan, Alex, Felicia, Rick, Mel, Leah, and Victoria are overwhelmed when they meet Daniel, his son Griffin Williams, wife Tangela “Tangie," and their son Marcus. He remembers Victoria as his wife Ma-Ling died and he suffered amnesia. Alex states just like Brandon. Victoria realizes Alex and Alan found Daniel only to distract her from business; they realize how wrong they were to do that, but Victoria smiles. She calls for a board meeting and announces she is leaving the company to be with Daniel and his family, but promotes Felicia to CEO, Alan to President, Alex to Vice-President, and leaves Philip, Alan-Michael, and Amanda in their positions. Alan is livid, but Alex decides to take Felicia under her wing. Alan plots with Phillip to get Felicia out of Spaulding Enterprises. Victoria bids her family one last goodbye before leaving with Daniel.

Frank & Ross find the evidence to take Carmen down and set her up. She is arrested and at her trial feels like as a single Latina woman she was targeted. Carmen threatens AJ, who goes to Frank and admits he was on the take. Frank and Ross devise a plan to cover up AJ’s involvement with Carmen. Leo is Carmen’s attorney as Ross leads the charges. The jury (Lillian, Lujack, Maureen, Trish, Dinah, and Wanda along with 6 others) convict Carmen and she’s sentenced to 5 years with parole after 3. Pilar finally sees Carmen for whom she is and denounces her as an evil person. Marina tells AJ he should go see Carmen one last time As AJ does, Carmen spits venom at him; he tells her he hates her. He comes back to Marina and proposes.

Blake deals with being the product of Rape. She rejects Roger and asks Holly why she kept it secret. Holly tells Blake she only wanted to protect her. Holly and Blake go to a women’s shelter to help volunteer. Blake hears story of rape survivors as some are products of rape as well. Roger finds out where Holly and Blake are; Blake demands he donate half of his fortune to a rape survivor’s charity. Roger apologizes to Holly; Blake slaps him and tells him she will never forgive him. Blake talks to Jason about her conception; Jason asks if there’s any way she can forgive Roger as he may have been a terrible father and husband, but he’s an excellent grandfather. Blake reaches out to Roger for Jason’s sake. She tells Roger he can attend Jason’s birthday and Christmas but she wants nothing to do with him. He thanks her for being a part of Jason’s life.

Maureen takes a turn for the worst so Nola & Quint track down James “Jim” Reardon, his wife Claire Ramsey, Anthony Reardon, his wife Anabelle Sims Reardon, Chelsea Reardon, Matthew “Matt” Reardon, and Bridget Reardon. At the Bauer barbecue seeing all her family gives Maureen the will to survive as they stay a month taking care of Maureen and sharing family stories before leaving; Ross helps Maureen as well.

Nick and Mindy don’t get time to hang out as she’s doing her latest collection. Mindy hires Leah as her muse; Nick gets local scoop. Nick asks if they should take their relationship further. Mindy thinks he’s going to propose and Nick asks her to get a condo with him. They sign a lease together at Birch Woods; Alex hires movers behind his back and has everything furnished when they move in. Mindy thanks Alex and loves her taste; Nick thanks Alex as well. Mindy and Nick continue their busy schedules but vow to never spend more than two nights apart.

(Senior Year) Jason, Pilar, Daisy, and Rafe prepare for graduation. They vow to spend time together as well as finding jobs. They go on last trip together to Martha’s Vineyard. Rafe gives Daisy a promise ring as Jason finally asks Pilar to be his girlfriend. They graduate.
